I recently had the pleasure of working as an Austin headshot photographer for Google during the opening day event at their new downtown Austin office. The goal was to create clean, professional team headshots on-site—quickly, efficiently, and without disrupting the flow of the event.

For this session, I brought my full portable headshot setup directly to Google’s office, including professional lighting, modifiers, and backdrop options. I use a compact rolling cart that allows me to transport and set up all of my gear quickly, making on-site headshots both seamless and highly effective for corporate environments.

Once we arrived and walked through the space, we discovered a beautiful wood wall inside the office that immediately stood out as a perfect natural backdrop. While I always come prepared with backdrop stands and multiple options, I’m equally flexible when a location offers a strong existing background. In this case, the wood wall added warmth and texture that aligned perfectly with the modern feel of the space—so we opted to use it instead of setting up a separate backdrop.

Efficient, High-Volume Headshots — Done Right

This particular session was designed as a first-come, first-served headshot experience, running for one hour during the event. Within that hour, I photographed 35 individual headshots, keeping the process organized and moving smoothly.

A member of the Google team helped manage the flow by recording each participant’s name and email in the order they were photographed. Each person had a few minutes in front of the camera, during which I guided them through relaxed, professional posing and showed them their images on the spot. I always like clients to see their photos in real time so we can make quick adjustments—this ensures everyone walks away feeling confident and happy with their results.

Image Selection, Retouching & Delivery

After the event, I curated and uploaded the strongest images from the session and sent them to the client for review. Each participant selected their two favorite images, which I then professionally retouched. Once final selections were confirmed, the edited headshots were delivered back to the client.

From shoot day to final delivery, the entire process took approximately 1–2 weeks—a timeline that works well for corporate teams and fast-moving organizations.
