Behind the Scenes: Launching Athletic Enzymes with Tim Brown and Alan Godfrey

I recently had the chance to work with Athletic Enzymes on their brand and product launch, and it was such a fun, dynamic project to be part of.

This was a multi-day shoot that brought together everything I love about photography—people, storytelling, and bringing a brand to life through visuals.

I led the creative direction from start to finish—conceptualizing everything from the locations and props to the shot list and lighting sequences. Every visual element was intentionally chosen to reflect the brand’s identity and elevate the product. I handled the full process, ensuring each scene told a cohesive story and that the final images felt polished, purposeful, and on-brand.

We kicked things off with lifestyle shots featuring the founders, Alan Godfrey his wife, Marjorie and Hall of Fame football all-star Tim Brown (yes, the Tim Brown—very cool to work with him!). For the first part of the shoot, we captured them in real-life moments that speak directly to the brand’s active, health-conscious audience: playing tennis, hitting the golf course.

For the second part of the shoot, we moved into a studio setting to capture clean, polished portraits of the founders. This gave us a chance to showcase the faces behind the brand in a way that felt both professional and approachable. We also utilized the studio for some kitchen shots - we wanted to emphasize that the supplements contain real ingredients from fruit and vegetables.

Then I brought the product into my home studio to round out the shoot with both lifestyle and studio product photography. I created a variety of scenes—some clean and minimal with plain backgrounds, others styled to match the specific ingredients or use cases of each supplement. Think: fruit and veggie setups, workout gear, and everyday home environments. The idea was to reflect how these supplements fit seamlessly into a healthy, active lifestyle.
